Mangalore May 29: Gladsom students along with their Rector Rev.Dr Praveen Leo Lasrado bid adieu to former Rector Rev.Fr Anil Ivan Fernandes here in Gladsom on Sunday.
To mark this celebration a small prayer session was organised which was presided by Rev.Dr Praveen Leo Lasrado.In this prayer session with the help of an Anecdote, Fr Leo explained the importance of being grateful. The Students thanked God for the blessings they received through the person of Fr Anil Fernandes.
After the prayer session a small program to felicitate Fr Anil was organised. One Student each from three respective batches shared their joyful memories which they had cherished with Fr Anil.
Expressing his feelings about Fr Anil, Fr Leo said “Fr Anil as a young priest has given good formation to these Students which I am experiencing in this initial days of my Rectorship”. He also said that Fr Anil was his Student and he was excellent in his Studies.
Fr Anil the outgoing Rector expressing his feelings said “I didn’t expect such a grand farewell because I still want to be connected with this House. For my Vocation was bloomed in this House”. Adding to it Fr also said that he is happy because the newly appointed Rector is more skillful than him.
Fr Alfred Pinto, the Rector of Rosario Cathedral thanked Fr Anil for lending his helping hand and full support in his ministry.
The Rector and Students gave their gifts to Father as mementos of love and gratitude. The Program was organised by the Rector along with other Students. Snehal Dsouza compered the program, John Dsouza welcomed the gathering and Jostan Dsouza proposed vote the of thanks.
