Mangalore, 1 May 2025 – The brothers of Gladsom Home bid a heartfelt farewell to their Regent, Br Joel Fernandes, on Thursday, 1 May. A short but meaningful programme was organised by the student seminarians to mark the occasion.


The event began with a prayer song, setting a reflective and prayerful tone. This was followed by songs of good wishes sung by all the brothers, expressing their affection and support for Br Joel’s future ministry. As a token of love and gratitude, the brothers presented a farewell gift to Br Joel.


Rev. Fr Antony Clany D’Souza, Rector of Gladsom Home, acknowledged his service, creativity and active involvement in the life of the house and wished him well for his future journey. Rev. Fr Harry D’Souza, the Spiritual Director, also appreciated Br Joel’s dedication and commitment to his responsibilities during his regency.
All brothers shared their personal sentiments and memories, testifying to the positive impact Br Joel had on the community. Br Joel in his Farewell speech thank God for the opportunity and asked the brothers to be positive always.


The programme was coordinated by the Rector, Spiritual Director, and the student brothers. The event was smoothly conducted with Roydan as the host, Lawrence delivering the welcome address, and John proposing the vote of thanks.


It was an evening filled with gratitude, affection, and blessings, as the community sent off Br Joel with warm wishes for his future ministry.
