MANGALORE, MAY 2: Rev. Dr Praveen Leo Lasrado took charge as the new Rector of Gladsom Home for Students on the eve of May 2, 2022. The outgoing Rector Fr Anil Ivan Fernandes along with Regent Br Joel Monteiro and other Students welcomed him to the House with a prayer service.
Fr Praveen Leo Lasrado took up the charge by signing the register. After taking Major Seminary”. He also thanked the outgoing Rector and also asked the students to be grateful to him for his selfless service rendered to this house.
Welcoming Fr Leo the outgoing Rector Fr Anil Ivan Fernandes said, “I wish all the best to our new Rector and Diocesan Vocation Promoter. I call this house an Inter Diocesan Major-Minor Seminary. Because firstly, it forms undergraduate students and secondly, there are students from the Udupi Diocese”.
Fr Leo Lasrado was ordained as Priest for the Diocese of Mangalore on May 24, 2005. He has a bachelor’s degree in Science from Mangalore University. Fr Leo has obtained a Licentiate degree in Moral Theology from Pontifical University, Rome. He also has a doctorate in the theme, “The Ambiguity of Embryo Adoption: An Ethical – Theological Appraisal”. Vatican Radio, Music, Drama, Agriculture, and Farming are some of the areas of his ministry.
The charge-taking ceremony was organised by Br Joel Monteiro along with Seminarians. Rev. Dr Ronald Serrao the Rector of St Joseph Seminary along with Fr Ivan Dsouza, Fr Rockwin Pinto, Fr Naveen Pinto, and other staff of the Major Seminary were present. Br Joel compered the programme.
